Winemaking Criteria

The red grape varieties are hand-harvested, in picking-boxes, at the optimum moment. The grapes are delicately pressed and juices are selected before settling. The first alcoholic fermentation is made in a stainless steel tank. Then the wine is filtered.

The wine is bottled and aged on lees during 18 months, in order to get the rich aroma complexity and fine bubbles. Disgorgement is made depending on the demand, at our winery. Dosage is added to get the best tasting balance.

A Sensory Experience

The brilliant robe has some delicate and subtle salmon-pink hues, with its bubbles dancing in the flute-glass. The nose is like the robe: the meeting of red berries (strawberry, redcurrant, raspberry) and blue flowers (iris and violet), typical flavors of the Cabernet Franc. A hint of hazel nut and flavor of brioche come from the secondary fermentation in bottle. The palate is soft, fresh and crisp. Notes of acid drops and red berries reinforce the impression of youth of the Crémant de Loire Rosé, and temper its structural liveliness. The balance is just perfectly fine.

Wine and Food Matching

Our Crémant de Loire Rosé is recommended for fancy aperitifs, or for red berry skewers. You may replace Tostitos by some small tomatoes! Served at a 5 to 6°C temperature (41 to 42.8°F), it will perfectly match:

  • Fishes such as salmon grilled on its skin and its sauce of strawberries cooked in Cabernet d’Anjou. 
  • Crémant d'Anjou with red berries or a raspberry purée
  • Desserts based on red berries: ice cream and soufflés
  • Crêpes / Pancakes with their red berry jam and numerous red berry cakes (crumble, pies…)
